In a recent email, a close friend wrote the following after hearing about a special birthday present I bought myself:

What new toy did you order? This is my latest one (30th b-day gift, so it's kinda old now) but mine's green. So far, it's one of my faves, but what I'm REALLY looking for is some sort of external stimulator, like a bullet . . . so if you have any suggestions? Ha! Is this TMI? I don't ever know. Hopefully [the other (male) friend in on the email chain] will have stopped reading this after the second sentence. Anyway . . . *crickets chirping* . . . I should go cook dinner now. Bye!

Which prompted me to respond with:

Your new one is so so cute!!! I looked at that one. This is my new one. Though I certainly didn't pay that much for it. I ordered from Amazon.com because they had it for $60. Bargain!! It's rechargeable, which I'm curious and excited about. I figure at the end of it's life, it'll be a pain, but until then - hopefully - it'll be great.

I have the BEST outtie. I recommend it to everyone (after it was recommended to me by a friend who has lost hers twice now). This is it. It isn't super cheap and uses AAA batteries, but I love it... as do a few friends of mine. One of my friends' boyfriends loves it, too...

This one is also good. I loved it for a long time... until it broke. The one I mentioned above is pretty indestructible, unlike this one.

Which got us chatting about how great it would be if we could network with other women who are comfortable discussing things like this - to find out where they shop, what they buy, what works and what doesn't, where the best deals are, etc. etc.
